Oh, and so you know? The book was called The Edge of Dusk.

The prince of the kingdom of Dusk fell in love with a sun priestess. You called it silly, dramatic, overblown romanticism, but I was crying because it didn't seem fair, that they were people of two different worlds who couldn't be together when I got to wake up and see you every day of my life.

...you were right though. It was pretty dramatic.
