Mikleo, I found Dezel. He's doing all right; I thought he would be hurt worse because of how serious Zaveid sounded, but he's just a little banged up.

Zaveid's fine. Nothing serious, and I've healed him.

It seems like they've worked things out for the moment.

Yeah, looks like they just needed to get it out of their systems.

Is that something that comes with age? Needing to smack each other around to come to a consensus? Let's promise never to get to that point.

I'm almost entirely sure that our relationship is nothing like theirs. I doubt that's a risk.

You CAN get violent sometimes though. Not that it's an issue, just that I need to be careful not to embarrass you too much.

Maybe if you used common sense I wouldn't have to!

Common sense is overrated! Nothing would be discovered if everyone subscribed to it.

That's an illogical argument. Without common sense, explorers would do stupid things like jumping off cliffs instead sensibly climbing down the side just to see what's at the bottom.

But what if common sense dictates that you don't go down to begin with? You'd miss out on so many amazing discoveries!

And what if common sense is what keeps you from using a rope too short to reach the bottom, so you don't have to trust your fate to dangerous drops with no immediate way to get back up again?

[Because the number of times Sorey has done that is just....]

If we never tried to reach the bottom because the rope is too short, then we'd never find those totally cool carvings that confirmed the theory of multiple Shepards existing simultaneously, would we? [THE RISK WAS WORTH IT]

I'm not sure I like the implication that you need to be a reckless idiot to discover things.
