Oh man, I'm excited! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever! This is so neat. I wonder if this is what it's like to have a sleepover!

[god, Sorey, it's been like a day and a half or something

Do you suppose there's any restrictions on how long you can stay? I haven't thought to ask.

Hmm...I don't know. I mean, I guess I could sleep in your bed and all but I still have duties I have to take care of on my own ship. I don't want them to have problems because I'm not over here to fix things. [that he doesn't know how to fix yet anyway]

[Mikleo is thinking that, actually, but refrains from commenting. As usual, Sorey's full of enthusiasm- he at least wants to try.

So he will try not to sulk when he has to leave.]

We'll test it out and see how it goes, then. And there's no reason why I can't visit your ship as well. There's already someone here in charge of communications, so my presence isn't crucial.

[Plus that communications person can actually, like. Talk to people.]

Wouldn't it be harder for you to get a ride though? Can the pilot even hear you?

One of them can. There's no reason why I couldn't learn to fly it myself, though.

[If Sorey thinks he can do it, surely Mikleo can, too. It can't be that difficult!]

...haha, that'd be pretty funny, actually. If someone looked out the window, and this shuttle came in but- there's nobody in the pilot seat...! Like a ghost story.

If Edna were here, she'd definitely enjoy that.

[Well, it would be entertaining, if nothing else.

He could haunt Sorey's crew. Shenanigans, or something.]

She would. And Rose would start yelling and hitting me. [His laughter doesn't last as long this time.]

...I'll be there in a minute. Hera's going to give me some tips, so I'd better pay attention.

[Hera gives Sorey the basic rundown and it's enough, probably, for him to take it out on his own next time (but he'll likely ask anyway just to make absolutely sure). They land and Sorey only barely remembers to thank her again for her help before barreling out of the docking bay into the ship proper, stopping once he reaches the hallway because he...doesn't know where Mikleo is.]

Mikleo? [he yells, because that's usually a good way of doing it.]

[He says, from directly behind Sorey. Seraphs gonna seraph.]

Mikl-! [Sorey spins around and reaches out to shove Mikleo's shoulder, partially in indignation but mostly in excitement. Sure, it's only been just over a day but- well he doesn't like being separated from his friends, okay? He's already missing Rose and his other seraphim. If he'd lost Mikleo too, he's not sure how he'd be doing.] Sneaking up on me. Are you doing that to your crewmates too?

No. [A little.] It's your own fault. I was waiting in the other room, but you ran out before I could say anything.

[He's glad Sorey's here, though. It's been... an interesting experience so far.]

I couldn't help it! I was really excited to see you. I feel like it's been forever, but maybe that's just because there's so much to learn about this place. [now that he's here though he's going to just get right up in your space and practically lean against you okay? ok]

It has been an overwhelming couple of days.

[He's never been shuffled around so much in such a short span of time, and certainly not without being consciously aware of it. It's disorienting, and being separated from his best friend just made it worse. He can understand how Sorey is feeling.]

[Leans on Mikleo's shoulder] There's so much to do. If they're trying to distract us from what's happened to us by trying to keep us busy, they're definitely succeeding. This feels like a really advanced setup.

Don't get overwhelmed. We'll start with what we can do and work our way up from there, same as always. Gather information, research the area, study what we see.

You're right. [Mikleo, as always, puts things into perspective. Sorey can feel himself calming down already. He's not terrified to be on his own, but Mikleo's almost always been with him, especially as things got progressively harder and more complicated. Even more than Lailah sometimes, Mikleo is his mainstay.

Sorey sighs and drapes an arm around Mikleo's shoulders as they walk, which makes it kind of awkward to not bump into each other but whatever, whatever. Mikleo'll shove him off when it gets annoying.] We just have to concentrate on what we can do right now. Which is keeping our ears open and talking to as many people as possible.

Yeah.

[Mikleo doesn't seem to mind, at least not for the moment- merely sways in step with Sorey, picking up his pace to keep in step with the other's longer strides. It feels a bit strange to be stepping into Lailah's role, keeping Sorey on track, but at least he's had a lot of practice with it, ever since they were kids. Lailah was better with the Shepherd stuff, but a worrying friend is nothing he can't handle. Even the sub lord pact can't change that.]

What about your crew, by the way? I never had a chance to ask. Was there any trouble?

Oh no, no trouble. My crew is really quiet actually. I walked around looking for malevolence, but I didn't see much of anything. [He's only spoken to a couple members at length, and they were both very kind to him. He's got no complaints.

Except that. Y'know. No Mikleo.] So you don't have to worry. [because you were]

[Of course he was worried, but he just shrugs and doesn't acknowledge it. Sorey will assume it whether he admits it or not.]

Maybe I should come to your ship when I need some peace and quiet.

[And a break from the malevolence that totally exists here now. Though with Sorey around, he feels instantly better, anyway. So that's a nice change.]

You should! It'd be a nice, quiet vacation. There's not much to do there besides your work, but we would at least have each other to talk to.

Ahhh, I'm used to it. [Brings up his other arm to squeeze Mikleo around the neck and shake him a little.] Besides, it's not like they'll throw me out for being weird. It's all right.
