Not that there's anything implicitly about Mikleo that makes him feel distrust, but...well, he's lost a few friendships over this.]

Let's just say...I've been sick for a long time. Sick with something that's supposed to be incurable. In a way, you could say thanks to the augment, I've been living on borrowed time these past years.
