About the cook being a hellion? You could tell just as well as me. Is there any malevolence?

I can't sense any, but I'm worried that whatever's been done to us is interfering. She's openly admitted to being a monster, and you can tell by looking at her.

Hmm. Right, I'll take a look when I'm over there.

Now what's this about the captain attacking you?

Remember that man we spoke with, who claimed to have another voice in his head? That voice is another person dwelling within him. He can sense my presence, but he couldn't see or hear me, so he lashed out at what he thought was a ghost.

[monolike]

So that must've been his 'conscience' he'd mentioned. No malevolence around him either? [Another person dwelling inside though, that's more Shepard than hellion.]

[nerdeology]

None at all. It still feels so strange, to go this long without feeling any.

[Not since leaving Elysia has he felt so light, the terrifying weight of malevolence gone from his senses.]

I know what you mean.

But I think in this case we should enjoy this while we can. You can ease up without having to worry, and as long as we keep an eye out for it there shouldn't be any problems. Nobody turns into a hellion overnight, after all.

I'm not sure that being abducted is something we're supposed to enjoy.

[Sure, it's a nice holiday from feeling kind of sick and gross all the time, but there are a lot of other things he's worrying about, now.]

[monolike]

I don't mean it like that. But we shouldn't worry ourselves sick over a lack of malevolence. We can look through each of the ships to make sure there isn't any venomization happening, but otherwise we can use this time to focus on figuring out how to get back.

[nerdeology]

[Nngh. Okay, fair point. Though it feels weird for Sorey to be the rational one.

All this stuff must be getting to him.]

...Fine, I'll concede. But I'm definitely keeping my eyes open for any warning signs.

[And he certainly won't be sleeping until they know more about this place.]

I don't know anybody here, I can't just go around asking for favors and expecting people to drop what they're doing to chauffeur me around. [also i am having fun playing with this thing]

[Sorey you can make friends in like five seconds, someone would definitely help you]

...Just. Don't be as reckless as you usually are. The Shepherd is too important to die in some ridiculous accident.

[And your best friend would be really upset if you got hurt trying to visit him, okay.]

You worry too much. Where's your sense of adventure? We're in space. This kind of explorative opportunity won't come twice! [Sorey might be making a concentrated effort to be more lighthearted for Mikleo's sake, but he really is also genuinely interested.]

My sense of adventure would be just fine if I was there, keeping you from getting yourself killed like always.

[Apparently not taking the separation as well as he'd hoped. Or maybe he's just tetchy because Sorey's just a ship away, but the ship itself is the problem.]

[buddy] I miss you too. [And Sorey isn't nearly as shy about just coming right out and saying it.] The sooner I figure out how to use this thing, the sooner I can be there. I promise, I won't do anything stupidly reckless.

I seem to recall every single instance of such rescues getting paid back twofold, or did you forget that?

I just wish your jacket was easier to grip. Maybe we should sew a handle back there, like a picnic basket.
